New impetus for Germany’s »Most Beautiful Books«

Lately the honourable Buchkunst foundation has had a tough time. There was even discussion of dissolving the institution entirely and along with it the »Die schönsten deutschen Bücher« competition. Now, however, its future is secure, and a thorough restructuring of the competition is being planned. Sending a strong signal of the changes to come, Karin Schmidt-Friderichs of Hermann Schmidt Verlag was elected as Chairman of the Board of Stiftung Buchkunst. We talked to the very convincing – and very committed – spokeswoman for the foundation, about these changes.
